The gone week was a pretty hectic. But the good news is that I managed to get my driving test through Hurraah!!! It’s was a bit of wasting time there at the RMV but the driving tester who was allocated to me was some what professional and a nice guy. On that day after a very loooong time I had to live my lunch with some pastries since I was waiting for my test eagerly and had less time to walk about. But at the end of the day I was through and got the long yet important temporarily license document. And that was a sigh of relief.
Seems every thing is going as planned these days. The car that I was interested in is almost purchased. There are some little things to get done related to transfer and the payment check and within another two days I will be smooth riding on my Honda Civic EG8.
And I went to the Formula plus motor show at BMICH on Saturday. Damn there were some thundering classic cars there. I think over 100 of them. And mind blowing new vehicles too. My most interested areas were the Mercs , Jeeps and Peugeots . As you can see below are some very interesting vehicles which my friend have got attracted and captured on lens.

And on Sunday I went to see "Chak de - India". A diverse kind of a Hindi movie which kept me well entertained. Hardly a movie which has a different theme comes out from India. And even it does hardly one gets popular. And now this one was lucky. It’s a movie with a sports theme (Hockey) which is almost like a popular Hollywood sports flick. But there is much more Asian value in it and a message embedded so deeply that you can’t stop to rejoicing at end of the movie. Well done Shahrukh and the new set of girls.

Disease : Well ya mate both of them are out but not the original DVD copies. Only the digital TV copies are there in the market. If your TV is below 29" dont worry. Its good enough. But u have to live with the 2.1 or 3.1 sounds and crappy subtititles some times.
In this part of the world, to obtain the full divers license will take 3 years. If you don't hold any license (from any commonwealth country) you will end up driving with L plate for 6 months (with a supervisor) prior to get the provisional 1 license, then after 18 months you could get provisional 2 for another 24 months. For all these you have to go through intense screening process which includes practical and computer simulated tests. – So you’re damn lucky!!
Regarding Chak De: It was filmed in Aussie, I got 2 passes from one of my office mate (apparently his sister had played a small role in it) and we’re planning to go for it in the weekend. I’m not a fan of Hindi films but Avi likes Shahruk but also I amy enjoy coz it’s about hockey
Do you know that Indian Women's hockey team won the world champions and claimed that they were inspired by this movie :-)
Another thing.. in '94 We (Ananda 1st IX Hockey team) traveled to B'lore for a hockey tournament and played a practice match with the national women’s team…They humiliated us by winning by 12-0.. After all they were a national team..
Manjula: Oh bro I’ am glad I live in this part of the worlds then. But then again I feel like the training given for drivers is not at all enough and that’s the basic reason for the fucked up traffic and unlawful driving every where. Did u get the license done from there by now? Chak de is a good entertainer. And yes u will love it since its hockey. a better half of the movie is done in Australia and they have done some major crowd control which is impressive.
As long as you hold a valid drivers license of a commonwealth country for more than 3 years you're eligible for the full license. But you gotta do an exam (road rules) and then pass the intense practical test.
I got my Aussie Full license without much trouble. In my 10 years driving experience, last 2 years was the best (without a single ticket). It's gonna be hard to change from law abiding driving shoes to Colombo typical driving style.
You hardly find lunatic drivers, quite easy and stress free to drive in these roads. SL also should categories the license and shouldn't give the full license at once. Here P plate accidents and deaths are very common so there are v. strict rules for P plate drivers.
