Whats more important ??

Things went from bad to worse last night. My cold turned in to fever and I suffered from night to morning. The temperature was going up and down time to time made me go almost insane. I couldn’t get up in the morning and I wished there were some one to prepare some hot cup of tea.

I managed to get up and went to Suleiman’s (its close by to where I live) and got some medicine. That place was screwed up for few reasons. There was no number system so the patients were sitting here and there. And there was no proper sign boards presented so it took me some time and help to find the OPD. Doc said that I’ll be ok in another 3-5 days and gave some weird looking huge orange color set of tablets.

I didn’t do much today. Didn’t call office even to say that I’m not coming, coz when I came to my senses it was already passed half day. Watched few Simpson’s episodes on DVD coz the fucking TV don’t have any shit except for poor quality music videos and age old Hindi movies at noon. Half an hour in front of the screen started to double to headache so I was sleeping most of the time. The fever came up time to time but after the medicine I think it’s controlled now.

Its really fucked up to be alone when you’re not well. I seriously felt like I wanted to go home some times. But I know this is how it is every time. When life start to suck all the things you achieved begin to collapse in front of you. There is nothing compared to good health ha.

Well its night again and things are coming to a still. I hope I can sleep well tonight.

Live to be good to others

Isnt this what you want others to be ?? Taken from a web source.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We live to be good people. Yet sometimes, I think we slip into just living, not even just living, but a sort of existing that includes going through the motions of eating, talking, working, sleeping, with no attention on what each moment of being is for us.

How do we live to be good people? What is required of us? Do we need to be superheroes? Heroes? Do we need to be Great Buddha’s? Jesus? Moses? The Prophet?

When we walk along the sidewalk, we notice an ant and step over the ant. When we notice there is no toilet paper on the roll, we replace the toilet paper. If someone is angry with us, we listen. If someone needs us, we are there. These are nothing really special, nothing extraordinary, yet so often we are so asleep that we step on the ant, leave the bathroom, blow off someone’s feelings, and turn on the TV. Modern life has many exits.

Attention to the world within us and without us: we are neither engaged nor disengaged. Whatever is there is there and we are with it 100%. Our body is upright; our mind is upright; our heart is open. Practice.

6280 Migration

I got to write about this!! I changed my phone. I bought a 6280 last week. I was using a 6600 for some time now and thought its time to move on. And before writing this I used 6280 with its full set of features for about a week now. So here are a few little factors (Without technical specs) about it if you’re getting board of reading long reviews on Cnet!!!

Looks -Looks awesome. Not so small and not so big this makes it very handy.

Screen -Screen thin but tall than 6600 with boost of clarity. The contrast and the saturations are well balanced. Pitch resolution quality. (Impressive!!)

Key pad -Handy keypad on the top part. The slide out key pad has enough space too but some times a little confusion can come up with cancel and clear buttons since those two are aligned right in beside each other.

Camera -2 mp with white balance, zoom and flash. No autos focus option.

Reception -I use dialog and it’s pretty good. Some times the signals drop out in some place where my previous phone was not.

Speed -Not Symbian so it’s damn pretty fast. (I used Symbian before so I feel the speed baby)

3G -Works well.

And finally this is how it looks. Oh no don’t get confused that hand is not mine!

Audits and drivers.

Well I'am pretty board now. There was an audit meeting today morning and it went till 12 noon so I didnt get to do much of usual work.

Audits are good. It gives me a clear idea how my area is running and how my people are performing. Well I do have to evaluate them and give them promotions at the end of the year so I should know if they really up to the standard. Some guys hate audits but I dont. If there is some thing wrong its wrong. Who got it wrong is not the problem. It has to be solved. When there are problems and if some one is hating the audits I think they are equal to the Sri Lankan drivers. If you have exceeded the speed limit and why blame the cops for writing a ticket?? is'nt it funny?

Well let me share some fun that I saw in my email today.

Bitches that ruin company reputations ??

Some thing suddenly struck my mind when a colleague of mine mentioned a woman’s names and a company name together. And he said "…...." Company is full of sluts and woman out there are all bitches who is looking for f.. all the day.( Oh wait a second. I can remember I got an email once with some pics taken with a hidden cam saying it’s a scene from this so called company)

Now let me tell you this. There are bitches in every company and ever organization in the country. But some dudes wanna take some shameful fun out of attaching a company name in to this kind of incidences and make a huge fun out of it. Why ? I know one or two reasons. Some dudes go crazy over seeing these babes in short skirts and how they hang out at clubs and stuff but sooner get to know that reaching them is not as easy as it looks. So they hook up that woman with some Jon Doe and start out a interesting rumors (Some can be true but its others business any way). Kind of taking revenge or fulfilling some sexual desire I don’t know but that’s what happens mostly.

I once received some porn pics saying “Sri Lankan girl from australia”. But that mail came to a wrong man (me) coz I was a veteran in porn and knew most of the famous porn stars by the name. So I instantly identified that woman is Aria Giovanni the famous Italian porn star who now lives in America. And then once again a set of pics came saying what happened inside a call center of a famous telecom company. Some guy and gal making out in a small tiny cubicle capture via cctv. And guess what it turned out to be footage from an Indian cyber cafĂ© which I later on saw at some other web site.

There are maniacs every where. But I personally don’t like when people attach company names in to a woman’s misbehaviors just because she works there or not. I have seeing better things happen in theaters and beaches for that matter.

Power Fish!!!

This is fun!! from funlk.com

I’am feeling kind of board right now. The office was busy as usual in the morning and managed to finish some stuff in a lightning speed. (Me flash?)
Nothing much to say about the weekend too coz it was filled with small small happenings which I don’t think is not fair enough to share and make u board. Oh I watched ‘Snake on the plane’ (piece of crap filled with stunning yet impossible sequences. Some snakes feeling horny and trying to fuck the passengers up!! )

Check out another pic from my collection. This is from Hunnasgiriya.

They walk among us

These are some funny yet relastic instances of how some people take things in to their brains. I recieved this on email.

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old, still working fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying:"Free to good home. You want it, you take it". For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal. It looked too good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale $50". The next day someone stole it.

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car it's designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?" I explained that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned.

While working at a Pizza Parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding."Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces.

Yep, They Walk Among Us too. They walk among us, and reproduce!

Restircted life

Another long weekend is coming. To my amazement and my bad health conditions I have to stay at home without having any chance of going on a long photo journey. Long distance traveling, trekking and hiking for few months is a no no for me so here I’am wondering what to do on this weekend. Maybe I can work on some of my pics taken before at home or go for a movie with my girl or watch some at home. What ever it is I can’t enjoy them very much coz it’s hard for me to stay in one posture for long. Office is a tough place too for me these days because of the back pain. Every few minutes I get up and walk about for a while and come back to ease it. So cheerio I’am just about to do that now.

Here is a pick I took few months back while I was in Knuckles range. View full , enjoy and comment coz I wanna improve. U know what I mean.

I’am feeling so “Hospitalastic” this month. I know I know its not a word that u can find in the world most fucking big dictionary even. Check my reason for me being so hospitalastic.

1. I was in “Apollo” with spine problem for 8 days in a row

2. After I got discharged one of my fellow worker got the flu so went to see him to “Sulaimans”

3.While on a party last Saturday night a friend of mine got a chest pain and admitted to ICU at “Delmon hospital” and he discharged only today so had few visits there.

4.Then again I went to “Apollo” for a check up on the spine progress on last Monday.

5.Last night I had to go to “Durdons hospital” with my girl since she was not feeling wel but luckily it was not much.

6.Today another friend of mine is admitted to “Navaloka hospital’ with fever so it’s a potential visit very soon.

At the moment I’am thinking how the hell I was managing this month will all these hospital visits. I don’t know guys I’am feeling so “Hospitalastic”!!!

Is sex a weapon??

We all like sex. It’s not what’s my problem is! First of all let me say why this came in to my mind. BASIC INSTINCT 2. Yeesss that the name of a movie and why am I so troubled over that. It’s the story of a slutty novelist seducing a psychiatrist and using him to get a mental satisfaction by making a twist out of his life and putting him in the mental hospital at the end. Yes that’s the whole movie in one line which takes 2 hours to watch as you may wish to. I watched it and I must say many does so because they heard that it has lots of sex in it. But believe me it’s very slow phase and the sex scenes in it is just a mere 0.000000001% comparing to the porno I have watched. So I alarm you not to just pick it up and watch it if that’s what you’re expecting.

History proves that woman can be seductive and ruled men at many occasions. Cleopatra is one example. How ever how many modern Cleopatras are we encountering day by day? As guys we may think that we have done enough fucking and enough flirting with woman and got what was some say is unreachable and untouchable. Personally I have being there. Maybe it’s a challenge to pick some woman and make her pose in front of you with legs spread. But we never know if its her or we spread things in front of her any way. There were times where I have spent for woman and given them what they wanted and at the end of the got some thing in return. It can be sex or conversation or some other help or what ever but my intension was not just to get laid. If it’s a woman who is worth only for that it’s another story. But come to think of it really now after few years of those kind of relationships some have really juiced me out. They have shrunken me to the bone and guess what? They were sluts like one in . BASIC INSTINCT 2. No don’t worry, I’am not in the mental hospital or neither have killed any one for a woman but some people must have ha.

My point is simply this. Some Woman seduces us and get what they want and let us think that we got what we want but….. we have not gained any thing after all.

"Apollo" chapter- Days of pain.

Just as planned and expected I visited Kanneliya rain forest on 8th September. The place is just amazing and was able to boost my interest big time in every way. The forest was amazing the waterfalls were elegant and top of that the lodging place was cozy and well maintained. To my bad luck the whole area got soaked few times a day with heavy rains which I must say that is bigger than cats and dogs. Due to that I had to leave my beloved camera equipments at the lodge and do the trekking with hopes of coming back again on some other day. We chose a 12km trek which covered 2 main waterfalls and some other interesting trees and places.

The fun turned in to pain the night before the day which I was scheduled return. The spine injury which I had mildly for few years has given me so much trouble that night and I landed in “Apollo” hospital the very next day straight from the jungle. I had to be there for 8 days before I recovered enough to walk and go home after days of bed rest and hours of physiotherapy. Doctors identified it as lumber disk prolapsed or commonly known as slip disk. So I’am being very careful at the moment. No gym, no long hours traveling, no trekking for some time. I perfectly know that the start of this problem was a workout injury which happened 3 years back while I was doing heavy weight training. “SO MY ONE AND ONLY WARNING FOR YOU GUYS WHO LIFT WEIGHTS IS - WEAR THE SAFETY BELT “.I was stupid enough to neglect it and here I’am today. I was lucky enough to restart my system and will recover completely in due course but for some it may not. So keep that in mind.

Oh by the way here is how the thing illustrated by some one I don’t know who.

Miami Vice

Another Sunday passed by. Some time spent and office and major time spent on movies. Watched 2 movies which were completely different to one another. First its was “Miami Vice”, which is strong in violence and action/thriller now showing at Savoy cinema. The second was “Golamaal” an Indian comedy filled with eye cracking colorful songs and unrealistic comedy scenes on DVD. Its quite strange coz I happened to like them both and that happens rarely on a same day. Miami Vice was indeed up to my expectations and from the day I watched teaser trailer of that few months ago I was counting my fingers to see it. Sad to say the copy which is showing at the theater was a bit grainy and color washed like. I don’t know if it was an error occurred for that particular show time but I noticed it pretty much. How ever since the movies was thumping that was not much noticed after a while.

Today seems to be a busy day. I have few interviews to attend and that would be my last recruit for this year.

Striking history

There is a photography exhibition on the Tsunami tragedy at the new island-Baray lake. Today on a short notice I happened to drop by with one of my friends. Since photography is my personnel interest and tsunami is some thing worth remembering the photographs exhibited struck deep in to my mind. It was the first time I came upon such touching collection of photographs taken on the Tsunami incident which was not revealed before.

I was in Kalmunai on the dawn of 2005 new year day participating on a Tsunami relief campaign organized by the company and its was a quite salient experience for me. I have only spent 24 hours on that locations doing the relief work and handing out food and other necessary items to the needy. At the end of the day I felt like the world has become a completely different place and life has become inexpensive and fragile in every view point. And I can’t even imagine how the people who faced the tragedy overcame and rebuild their lives. While viewing the exhibition I felt like I was dragged back to that feeling and the world had started to spin the opposite direction.

What are u doin ? Just Blogging.

Well some times I wonder if any one reads my Blogg actually lol. Even my girl and my friends don’t know that I write this. Why I failed or rather hesitate to tell them that is, they may not be actually interested reading. She will read ya but she already knows most of the things going in my head. When it comes to my fiends they are a bunch of lazy f..ers which thinks life is all about f..ing and f…ing I wonder why guys are so much in to this thing. Well I really don’t point finger at any one in particular since 3 fingers will point at me automatically. For a guys eye Big booties and jugs is the ultimate measurement to measure how worthy a woman is at a glance.

I watched “Tumbsucker” last night. When I watched the trailer I thought it was a comedy. But believe me its much more serious than that. Its nothing much but a collection of happening of a life of a 17 year old suffers from some mental ( I don’t know what ever) things and sucks his thumb. But there is a deeper meaning to the movie than that which may run in to any ones teenage life including mine. Watch it when ur fully awake and fit enough to be silent and pump some thing to the brains. If not forget this and watch WWF instead.

I will Wright soon.

Board while things to do

Damn it I’am so board. I feel like yell and say it buuuuut it will not be good behavior in office. All I hear the sounds coming out from keyboards and mouse clicks. Information’s of some important upcoming projects are on my table and some unread emails which needs attention. I have gone through those roughly and immediately kept them for future thorough references. Well maybe some I will never go through those “future thorough references” even though it sounds crucially important.

SAG and KANK!!!

South Asian games were super. Since as Sri Lankans we don’t get to see such huge events unfold in our own grounds it was worth being there. Needless to say that the place was amazingly crowded and the noise was almost making me deaf. I had my beloved camera and the lenses with me so managed to sneak up behind the official media stand and take some pics which I will remember as my first sport photo shoot. Here is two for the record

Sunday was KANK day. If you wonder what that is its not some thing like TGIF. It’s “Kabi Alvida Naa Kehna”. Since the movie started at 10.30 am and finished at 2pm (Holy moly) I decided that I should call the day by its name it self. The movie was good actually. Yash Johar is the youths film maker in India at the moment with Kuch Kuch hotha hai , Koi mil gaya kind of super hits under his belt.

Lucky number Slevin and the SAG

I recommend “Lucky number Slevin”. Yes and I mean it. The movie may start as a series of events which is not relevant to each other but gradually cultivate in to a piece complicated puzzle and then in a to a simple yet powerful solution to it. Josh Harnet is powerful and the newly skinny looked Bruce Willys is neutral.

Today is Saturday and at last I got some tickets and the interest to visit the South Asian Games. Matter of fact I live in front of the Sugathadasa Stadium and I hear the noise coming out of it ever day. Honestly speaking some time I got really annoyed when it disturbed me while I was watching serious drama kind of movies at home.

So I’am ready with charged batteries and changed lenses to take some snaps of the events. Not to mention I won’t be able to make it to full close up but then again a try is worth than nothing.

Its not that scary after all - Scary movie 4

It’s really really hilarious. It took me five months from its release to watch “Scary movie 4” since all the copies I checked out was horrible camera or promotional ones. I hate them as much as I hate LTTE.

Well every one knows what’s the recipe for the Scary movie. This time they have abused War of the worlds, Village, Grudge and Saw big time and the crude humor some times is quite striking. Especially the once with Michael Jackson (look a like) and US president. Well the whole movies is an almost storyles piece of pieces from other movies and only good for entertainment and nothing else.

Gevi giys sathi anthaya.

48 hours of my long and short life has passed by on this weekend also. Noting much that I have gained except for 2 new movies and some new experience working with RAW image files.

Watched superman returns at the MC and boy that was better than I expected. Since it earned only $ 10 million on the US box office opening weekend I thought it might suck. But then again the fault is with the opening weekend it self coz “Pirate of the Caribbean’s-dead mans chest” has drawn the whole America to theaters and earned super $ 250million in two days leaving “Superman-Returns” with empty seats. Well Pirates are still famous than Superman these days in that case.

The other one was “Good night and Good luck”. A story of a CBS new broadcaster who struggle to give justice for a navy personnel, who was charged for communist activities in the 1950s. Directory by George Clooney and nominated for Oscars last year the movie was what I expected. Completely done in Black and white and with complicated language it was a different kind of stuff than the day to day car chases and double barrel pump shot guns.

My girl is not feeling very well after the Nuwaraeliya chapter and one of my relations has passed away in kaluthara are another two short news. So till I write again “Good night and good luck”.

1500km on the road

Oh my dear Blogg. I missed it so much (not really!). Aaah cut the crap it’s not the case. I was again on the road for over a week and I loved it. I have visited 3 different locations in the country within the last ten days. I even wonder how that happened since some was quite sudden.

4th to 5th I went to Knuckles range as planned via Mathale , Ratthota and that was a nice journey. The climate was good and the place too. Managed to gather some heavy photographs since I started working on RAW format for the first time. Covered one mountain trail with some effort and the mini worlds end too.

6th to 9th I was in Mahiyanganaya, Dambana area. There were 2 reasons to visit and both were official. The community project I’am working on at a school at Mahiyanganaya has still more to finish and secondly my company was planning to do some donations to the first and only Aborigines museum at Dambana. It was a fresh and an interesting experience the visit the Weddas and to learn a bit of the tribe and there community. The climate there was really bad since September is one of the driest months at the dry country. The burning heat was some times a real killer.

11th to 13th I was in Nuwaraeliya !!! Ya after the bloody hot dry climate of Mahiyangana 48 hours later I was wearing a rain coat and winter cap with fully covered glows. My girl and her causing wanted to get away for a long time now and it suddenly happened on that day. So I was almost like the tour guide arranging the lodging, transport and the places to visit.

So after all those traveling I feel like I’am half shrunk or some thing. I have covered over 1500km in all kinds of roads straight and bended and I feel like I need a break now. I have nearly 1000 photographs in my pc to work on and phew those are quite huge numbers for me.

Knuckles here I come

At last I have great news. I’ll be on the Knuckles Mountains again by end of this week via Mathale. The place was confirmed and booked so now it’s only a matter of going and snapping hell of a lot of landscape photos.

I purchased a Canon 75-300mm Zoom lens last Saturday and that was what I was lacking all these days. So now I have zoom power, battery power aaaand space power to go on a shoot without worrying of electricity or memory space for few days. Gosh I’am thrilled even thinking of it.

Last night was quite a change since I went out for dinner with my girly. Usually on Sunday night I stay at home and watch a movie or some thing. We went to Crescat food court and that place was packed with eaters and smokers. Smoking is some thing I hate after I quit a year back. Now I can’t stand the smoke and it gives me headaches. So I had no intention to hang out for long there and was out the minute we finished dinner.

Future Digital artist

Seems like my next photo shoots where about it quite uncertain. I booked the Lunugamwehera forest department tourist bungalow but it seems there is a water crisis the booking got cancelled. Now they are looking for an alternative place to replace me and my team. The final word will come on Monday and if there is no suitable place left I have to hurry up and find a place to lodge since the plan is falling end of next week.

In the mean time I’am working on some Photoshop CS2 total training program to polish my Photoshop skills. I have this likeness and talent to draw from my childhood and after I left school there was very less time left for me to get involved in them. I tried few times to get in to digital painting but it didn’t work very well. Some times in to 3D graphics and digital illustrations interested me. After working with photoshop for a long period and self studying it with the help of online and magazine tutorials I developed quite a skill to work in that application. That was a major leap for me when I started seriously shooting photographs and my first mode was digital. True I have done photos in film but they were when I was just curious. But the real turning point occurred while I was working with my basic point and shoot Sony cyber shot camera. So Photoshop was a savior and a master craftsman who came to my rescue when I was craving to make my images more and more professional.

Among my latest interest one is to start on illustrating again and this time on PC. Once I owned a cheep graphic tablet but I didn’t like it much. So maybe this time I can invest on some “Real” graphic gear and jump start my drawing era again. Being creative is no magic for me but I wanna do it in style, The digital way.

Time and space

Phew! I think the longest days of my recent pass ended on last Saturday with my girls return. Well I must apologies for writing about her all these days and I’ll give it a break now. She’s back and I’am happy and let the life flow towards its original route.

By the way I got some accessories for my Canon from Singapore. My girl has done a decent job collecting what I have specified. Below is the list of stuff I got down. If you wonder what those are exactly there is a little description too J

Portable digital partner - a portable HD with 40GB space compatible to transfer data and photos from flash memory cards like SD, CF. Since memory cards cost hell now it’s better to buy one of these and transfer the data to this than spending on more space on cards.

Remote shutter - This device can take a picture or release the shutter of the camera remotely. Good in case where long exposures are required.

Batter pack NB2-LH - This is a high capacity batter pack for Canon – eos350d which is about 6 times powerful of the original kit battery.

Battery grip BG-E3
-This is a grip to fix under the camera with extra batteries. Very handy to have a stronger grip and to have extra powered stored. Can hold 2 NB2-LH batteries or 6 AA batteries.

So now I can go on shooting for longer periods without worrying of battery power and storage space. What a relief !!

Missing

Tow days ago my girl went to Singapore for some training and after that I’am lost. I suddenly feel like I was abandoned and all what I do with interest is utterly useless. This is the first time she went some where that far leaving me and since she used to be at her home or close by all this years I cant even believe that I’am alone. She called me few times a day and sms but yet it’s not enough for me to be satisfied.

I used to go missing for days at a time and some times even couldn’t call or sms her because of no mobile coverage and I used to think that it’s nothing much. But when she is gone I’am left with unexplainable sadness.

Dreams come and go

From my childhood I had one dream. All my other dreams and ambitions were around that key dream which I strived and achieve few years ago. That was independence. The freedom to live alone and to live the way I wanted to. Parent’s yes they have done a lot for me and my success but there were times I wanted to run away and hide some where and never return. Life at home was like that. They loved me, gave me what I wanted even though its was hard for them, yet I wanted more and more. And here I’am today living in my own place far away from the family and earning a decent living which can full fill most of my needs. I have to admit I have life almost half of my average life span If I’am fortunate enough to live the average life span of a Sri Lankan. So I should have being really ashamed If I was not independent now.

Finding love was not an ambition for me but it was just a normal thing that I wanted to do since that’s the nature of all humans. Even in that I have succeeded few times yet didn’t had the need and the courage to hang on and failed intentionally and at times miserably. Girls came and went just like the rainy seasons and some went after fulfilling its purpose and some left inviting times of drought. Momentary satisfaction was just a need and long term relationships were just a fake after all.

And few years back she came my way. Things started to change and mostly some things I thought that will never in this life time. I used to think that this is also going to become just another rainy season but it turned out to be a summer which I wish that will last a life time. She was a morning sun light after a long dark night and a storm some times which destroyed my ego and carried away my neutral habits. So my empty space is filled now and my life long achieved dream of Independence is yet again to be destroyed. It’s for the better or worse I’ll let my destiny to decide. What ever it is I’am geared up for it.

Anjalika And My girl

Office is getting hectic again. Some urgent process re-engineering stuff and project work came up all of a sudden. I know its how the office life is. And maybe without those life will not be running any way since some challenges and dead lines are required to speed up and to experience life. Come to think of it the whole samsara thing is like office work. We come, work and go. Some times have to leave early and some times pushed away forcefully. Some manage to work for all their life and retire when old and some come and go without even knowing they existed. There are desires, burdens, challenges, moments of happiness and sorrow. Office is life within the life and uncertain just like the life it self.

My girl thinks that I don’t spend enough time with her. Ya I admit that. I wonder why I feel so lazy when it comes to taking my girl out. She blames that I always go around with friends for parties, movies and vanish in to jungles for days and don’t take notice of her needs. She badly wanted to see the new movie “Anjalika” so after few reminders I finally decided that I will take her. The movie was not so good but not so bad either. I say it’s watch-able. The new face Pooja Umashankar truly is a refresher. Coming back to my girly I think she was very happy not because of the movie but because she had spent some time with me after all. I like to see that look on her face. Those look of joy and gratefulness in her eye and hear that tone from her.

Since she was practically reminding me to be with her always some times I do feel like doing so but due to some matter I get stuck and plans change. When she keeps on telling me that I start to think of her always and urge to see her and be with her and the next thing I know is that she just mind her own business and forgets all those what she said. Yesterday I said that I wanted to see her but she didn’t take notice of it. I wonder how come woman remembers men when it comes to their needs and if not hang out with their cousins and friends and all that. Come to think of there we are all the same after all.

And oh this is not me and my girl. Its from the movie "Anjalika". Pooja and Channa lol.

Knuckels the heaven on earth

My trip to knuckles was a major success. Stayed at the Dothalu camp on the foot of Dothalugala Mountain which is one of the 5 mountains of Knuckles range. Due to heavy winds we were not able to camp out side so had to lodge in the near by stony cabin.

Did some good tracking on the Dothalugala tracking route and on the mini worlds end (Again) which gave me some good photo opportunities. Apart from that the biggest event of the trip was visiting Mee mure. Mee mure is a remote village situated at the foot of Lakegala mountain about 33 km away from normal human habitat. Seeing the normal and historical natural life style of our own Sri Lankan villagers was a new experience and at the same time a good opportunity for photos. Mountain peaks covered in heavy fog and Jungles covering most of the land and breeze that chills the skin makes Knuckels a heaven on earth.

TV won PC gain

At last I got some good news regarding the Plasma TV. After taking it to repair 2 times and returning without fixing it properly the company agreed to replace it with a brand new one. Well saying that even sound pretty good to me :) So hopefully they will deliver the new machine next week and after that I can be with peace with that.

I bought my first PC yesterday. I already have a laptop but that is not much of a help for my imaging work. The new machine is a killer with 2gb ram and a nvidia gforce graphics card and a 21" flat crt monitor. It works super fast and working with big big image files is pretty much fun now.

Winds and the Mountains - Hunnasgiriya

I had another whooping holiday and a photo shoot at Hunnasgiriya last week end. It was my second visit this year to that area and I’am totally loving it. It’s the wind season on the hill country and the rain which drops from time to time is chased away promptly. The clouds move faster than jets and it’s an awesome site to see. We used to stand on a lake bank and face and challenge the wind to stand straight. ( Well now u can imagine how powerful the winds can be out there)

It’s amazing how the trees cope up with the wind that strong as that much and it completely sounds like in horror movies. Amidst the heavy winds in the day and the heavy fog in the evening and rains in the nights me and my buddies managed to trek around 10-15 km on nature trails. Twice to the mini worlds and once to the Forest department camping site area and another steep trail down the mountains along the jungle.

We visited a village which is at the bottom of the mountain ranges named Kandegama but failed to visit Meemure. The beauty of that are stunned me once again and its heaven for a photographer. A 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains blew me away but unfortunately couldn’t do a panorama shot due to the heavy wind. We didn’t see much of wild life except for some rare horned lizard and some butterflies and bugs. Since I was using my new canon and I’am still not equipped with a good macro lens I was not much interested in macro shots. But gathered some awesome landscape and life style images out there.

We lodged at the forest department’s Deanston research center and it’s a hot spot which in the middle of most of the visit worth places around the area. Well my next get away is already planned at its gonna be at the same area but different location. I still have few more trails to cover and places to shoot. So next 8th to 10th I’ll be at the Hunnasgiriya forest departments camping site 1.8 km away from the Hunnas—Meemure road in the isolation of the thick forest.

Competition time

I entered for the first photography contest yesterday. Wild life photographer 2006 organized by Wild life association combined with NTB. I gave 10 of my best photographs according to the categories requested and all of them were printed for the fist time. Well the prints sure do looks awesome than on the pc monitor and it’s the magical touch of the traditional methods.

Some new projects coming up in the office and seems like I have some role to play from my division. I manage to continue my workouts and hobbies among all these and some times the day starts and ends in a jiffy. Coming to office at 7 am and leaving at 7 pm is not actually some thing that can be done every day with the same interest and joy. But I never blame my work for it. It all depends on how I balance things and never letting one side to get heavy is the key to success.

Experimenting with light

It’s another boring week gone by without “TV”. Well any way since there was less entertainment at home I finished reading some magazines which was pending on my table for some time and managed to clear up around 700 photos I took on the last deep down south tour. That was the first set of pics I took from my Canon eos350d which is my first SLR. The results were awesome and I’am totally happy with it.

Apart from that I did some experimental black and white portrait conversions and some table top photography using a table lamp and some tiny objects like a model car and a gold chain. They too came out good and hoping to purchase some good table top photography kit and studio light system too in the near future. Then me the man can experiment more with portraits and get in to some fine art photography. Well all my dreams do come true so why not this hak hak.

No new movies to watch too in town so loafing around is not much possible these days. Might drop in to MC today to check out some magazines and DVD’s.

3rd eye

Long working hours, sitting for a long time at once place, looking at the monitor for too long, sms chats have made me a freak this week. I some times wonder what I will do if these displays are not invented.

TV, camera, pc, mobile phone and many other things display some thing on some screen and we are so addicted to that. It’s as if our eyes can’t see any thing any more if these are not there. Is this is extreme of pleasing our senses or is it just the beginning? There is only one truth about life and existence and that true is for the technology too. It “Change”. From moment to moment it’s reborn. With the growth of intelligence and the curious human what we see is becoming a mirage day by day. We are getting used to ignore what we see naturally and be more and more dependent on what we see on an artificial screen or a display. We try harder and harder to re see what we saw by taking snaps and capturing them on video. In near future we may record our own view and dreams in order to see them later and to re live what we thought was better times. When will we learn to live and let go ?

Reson to get angry!!

Forget Fanaa, forget DVD’s I’am pissed now. These 3 wheel drivers drives me crazy (well they drive like crazy that's some thing else). With the recent fuel price hikes these buggers are really enjoying. When the fuel goes up in 5 bucks the 3wheel charge goes up by 10 or 20 bucks. As if the machine needs another two or three extra liters to run after the fuel price went up. My foot!!

So finally I decided to invest on a bike. Well I’am not at all a vehicle person. I don’t have license and I never owned a transport in my life other than a mountain bicycle. Since I don’t have license My only savior is the mopad. Ya ya I know it can’t speed and its small and all. Who cares!! I only have to travel 3 km to office so why should I need a 450cc beast.

Oh by the way my TV is on repair at LG for some heat problem. So it's almost like a house without a wife as oldies says. (Well I don’t actually need a wife but I need a TV) This is my TV if your wondering why I’am so upset. On top of that the CBNsat buggers has got screwed too so even the TV comes back I'll be left with DVD's only.

Fanaa night

Went to watch “Fanaa” yesterday night. The movie was good and the place was almost house full. It was after ages I went for a night movie since I’am very much used to stay at home after 5 and sit back and relax with my plasma and the theater system. Came home late and after some text chats with my girly went to sleep around 2am. And up at 7and back in office.

It’s a gloomy, lazy Sunday so I’am sleep walking. Nothing comes to my mind which interests me other than checking out some new software’s I bought to test DVD cloning. Seems some is pretty good. I got some copy protected dvd9 stuff so I wanted to keep a backup of it and was running like a dog to see how I can do it. Nero didn’t support it so went software hunting at MC yesterday. Thanks to the piracy every where I got a heap of stuff for few bucks.

Wednesday, June 07, 2006

These days are quite hectic. One of my colleague and a friend has passed away 2 days back and that’s the main reason. To attend to that work and office work all together gave me little time to sleep so I guess I’m kind of getting tired. I was at that place last night also till about 1am and the funeral is today so hoping to drop by in the afternoon.

Sleep is some thing which I’am very prompt of and I need it at least 7 hours. The duration of required sleep change from person to person and for me it’s that much. But I wake up fresh and machine runs good if its 8 hours continuous. So I try maximum to get 8 hours sleep every day. When some one is use to sleep for some hour period like that and if he looses sleep that cumulate as a sleep debt in the memory. This sleep debt should be fulfilled at least once a week for the system to recover. I may sound crazy but its scientifically proven. So If I sleep 6 hours for 3 days a week I sleep 3 hours extra on a week end maybe in the morning or day time and I really know that it helps. Since I dot my work out and stuff on schedule that is a must for me.

Living day to day

Life has gone through minor and major changes for the last few years for all the living beings on this planet. Not to mention the evolution of technology and the high speed information super high way has made life’s easier as we all may see it. My life two has changed for good from bad. Maybe I would have ended up in worse but with my karma and my luck I stand here today as a free sole typing this blog looking back at what I have done and trying to learn some thing from it.

Admitting that the life is short and I also will be perished one day as all born has made me rethink my life and change routes 2 years back. I listened to my inner voice and saw that what happen around has very little to do with me and what's happening in side in me is my creator and the destroyer. With lot of help from Buddhism and self research I gain a fresh view of life and living.

Now I live in peace with all knowing that all the same and respect knowing that every body should be respected. Tears, sadness and the worse the death teach me lessons while smiles, laughs and joy keep me going. May be it.
